3D morphology measurement technology

Our research laboratory has the latest testing equipment to ensure the quality of our μ-MIM® components.

Evaluation with the ATOS system

ATOS is a 3D optical measurement system that provides accurate and traceable 3D coordinates from GOM. This system is used in various industries, from planning to quality control in production.

The company that manufactures ATOS develops not only optical measuring instruments, but also data analysis systems.

Here you can see an example of measurement data from a difficult fixture. The image shows the surface morphology of a traditional Japanese sugar candy called konpeitou. It is made of sugar and has 24 prongs on a 10 mm spherical mould.

Evaluation with the Nikon MCT225

This X-ray CT scanner provides efficient and extremely accurate measurement of the internal and external geometry of complex MIM components. It allows the observation and measurement of the internal structure of metal or plastic parts that cannot be observed with visible light.

This device can measure up to 15 mm depth in case of steel or stainless steel, therefore the parts processed with our μ-MIM®, the internal shape tolerance and all defects are detected.
